ROMA spelled backward is AMOR (love).  It is pretty much the essence of this city: a work of art and of love by artists that over the centuries made this city the unique beauty of its eternal splendor.

Love and passion are also typical traits of its inhabitants. Not fond of rules , Romans make an art of eating quality food in the most off-the-beaten track trattorias and street food holes-in-the wall. Just go with the flow and venture off the beaten track in less touristy areas like Aventino, Monteverde Vecchio, Testaccio to enjoy the real Roman flavor.

Ancient ruins such as the Forum and the Colosseum evoke the power of the former Roman Empire. Vatican City has St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, which house masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes.

From historic tours through ancient Rome to Sunday morning shopping at the  Porta Portese flea market to climbing to the top of St. Peter’s Basilica, this city is bursting with things to do. You can help your chances of returning to Roma by tossing a coin in the Trevi Fountain; fate might just bring you back to the Eternal City, or so the legend goes!

All roads truly do lead to the Eternal City! Wander the ancient cobblestone streets, enjoy the sights and smells of markets, piazzas and architecture at every turn.

Journey down Spanish Steps and the columns of the Pantheon. The Vatican, with its awe-inspiring museum collections, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica are all breath-taking and moving!

Step back through time. View life through the eyes of a gladiator, their fellow participants, or the spectators as you wander through the famous Coliseum.
